Julien Clerc , born Paul-Alain Leclerc 1 the October 4 , 1947in Paris , is a French singer .

Only son of Paul Leclerc (born January 27, 1916, died in February 2003), a senior official at UNESCO and Évelyne Merlot (bornOctober 29, 1926, deceased in 2007) from Guadeloupe , Paul-Alain Leclerc was born onOctober 4, 1947in the 19 th  arrondissement of Paris . His mother, Marie-Louise, was a housekeeper at Auguste Leclerc, PTT controller , paternal grandfather of Julien Clerc. His maternal grandfather, Alexandre Merlot, was a mestizo Guadeloupe 2 .

In two documentaries broadcast on France 3 dedicated to French songs of extra-metropolitan inspiration, Entre 2 Rives ... Under the Tropics in 2011 and Around the world in songs in 2016, Julien Clerc claims to be from Guadeloupe and to feel deeply Caribbean, that his music is necessarily inspired and that his grandfather was the same skin color as Yannick Noah .

Tensions arise quickly in the couple with different social origins and this, from the choice of the name of the infant, who inherits a compound first name , his father wishing to call Paul and his mother Alain. His parents divorced on April 6, 1949, and after two years of a court battle, Paul obtained custody of the child but was released from the proven procedure, a victim of an infarction that causes partial paralysis of the face.

The October 6, 1949, Paul Leclerc remarries with Ghislaine Téry (died December 23, 2011). The couple gives Paul-Alain two half-brothers: Jean-Noël and Gérard , and three half-sisters: Sylvie, Christine and Marianne

Paul-Alain then lives in Bourg-la-Reine and, thanks to neighbors, is a lay scouting at the Éclaireurs de France in the Montaigne group .
