Olaf Malolepski (* 27 March 1946 in Magdeburg ) is a German hit singer . He became known as a member of the Die Flippers group. Since the release of the Flippers in April 2011, he has been playing as a solo artist under the name of Olaf the Flipper .

Olaf Malolepski was born in Magdeburg in 1946 and moved with his mother to Pforzheim in 1958 . He learned the profession of the toolmaker; In 1963 he completed his education. In 1971 he married the sister of Uwe Erhardt from the group Die Schäfer . In 1974, his son was born, in 1982 his daughter, who is also a singer and performs under the artist name Pia Malo .

From 1960, Malolepski had performed with different bands; In 1967 he became a member of the Dancing Show Band . 1969 the band renamed themselves to Die Flippers ; In the same year they did not succeed with wines, little Eva was the first big hit. In 1970 their first LP appeared with the title Die Flippers . From 1972 it became quiet around the Flippers; Malolepski worked as a music teacher and a tennistrainer at the TC Wolfsberg Pforzheim .

In 1985, the Flippers met the producers Karl-Heinz Rupprich and Uwe Busse , with whom they had again success: The album On red roses fall Tear was awarded the Golden Record. A year later they had another big hit with The Red Sun of Barbados . From 1986 until their dissolution in 2011 they were represented 17 times in the top 10 of the German Musikcharts.

In the years 1973 and 1974, Olaf Malolepski, besides his musical work with the Flippers, released a total of three single records, under the pseudonym Christian Peters .  In 2011, Malolepski began a second solokarriere after the dissolution of the Flippers.

It followed his first single thousand red roses . On 15 October 2011 he had his television screenmakers in the autumn festival of the Adventures with Florian Silver Iron . Already one day before, his solo debut album " Tausend rote Rosen" appeared, which was placed in the German, Austrian and Swiss charts. The album was awarded with gold. On October 12, 2012, his second album, Wenn der Anker, was released. The album reached 10th place in Germany and 15th place in Austria.

In September 2013, a Christmas album with the title Ja, was already Christmas . In February 2014, the first single release of the album of the same name, released on March 21, 2014, and the German, Austrian and Swiss charts, was released. In 2015, there was no album release and Malolepski made himself in public.

On the occasion of his 70th birthday, a new double album appeared on 25th March 2016 You are like champagne - the anniversary is only the best . The album immediately reached the German, Austrian and Swiss charts. It was ranked 6th in the German charts, which is the most successful solo artist ever. He went on tour on this album in January and February 2017. In April 2017, he confirmed the switch to the Telamo record label and announced his new studio album for August 2017.
