The Paveier are a kölsche dialect - and Carnival band . Among her most famous titles are Buenos Dias Mathias , I have ordered music and Heut burns my igloo .

The formation emerged in 1983 from the relatively unsuccessful country band Colonia Rangers and concentrated in the following period with a new name on purely kölsche music. Her principal lyricist and composer was Hans Knipp , who helped them with their first two songs, Am Ruusemondach and Ich nemm d'r Dom met, to a first production at EMI Electrola .

Soon afterwards they were produced by the Gerig music publishers under the label Papagayo. After that, the group founded their own label, Pavement Records , in which other Cologne bands such as the robbers , Brings and the Bläck Fööss also play.

The band name Paveier, in Hochdeutsch "pavement", is related to the French pavé - "street pavement". It is said to refer back to a name from the Napoleonic period, in which many French concepts have found their way into the language of Cologne. However, the word was already used much earlier in Cologne  and was a widespread word spread throughout the entire Dutch and Western- speaking world.
