Mara Kayser (* 2. April 1966 in Sântana, deutsch Sanktanna, Volksrepublik Rumänien) ist eine deutsche volkstümliche Schlagersängerin.

Already as a 15-year-old, the native Banater Schwäbin sang in a band, with whom she performed at the weekend at dance events. She completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and became the chief secretary.

In 1991 Claus Backhaus (former member of the band of the Flippers ) was attracted to her because of her special voice. He listened to her singing at an event and spontaneously invited her to his studio for pro-recording.

In 1995 she made her hobby a profession. Backhaus was her producer, composer, lyricist and manager until 2003. In 2005 she met the composer and producer Wolfgang Herrmann. In 2006, Mara Kayser released her first completely self-titled album. With this album she took the step towards the demanding German hit. In addition to music, Mara Kayser is dedicated to painting.
