The Blattschuss brothers are a German music group that celebrated great successes in the late 1970s and early 1980s with deep, but above all the " stupid hits ". In 2017 the group still exists as a duo from Beppo Pohlmann and Kalle Ricken .

The group released their first songs in 1976, with well-known melodies underpinned by witty lyrics. Later more serious - often melancholic - songs were added. The LP Bla-Bla-Blatschuss , which was published in 1978, which consisted exclusively of its own compositions, attracted wide attention. The song Kreuzberger Nights was several weeks in the charts and led to German-wide popularity. The group had numerous appearances in radio and television, as in the ZDF hit parade .

In the following years further titles were produced, which also came in the hitparades. Until the mid-1980s, the group released six albums. Then it became quieter around her. In 1988 Beppo Pohlmann continued the duo with the musician Kalle Ricken . Since then, it occurs primarily as a show act on at parties and corporate parties and still with acoustic guitar and mandolin on theater and cabaret stages. There appeared several singles and in 1993 and 2002 the last two albums.

In contrast to the rules of spelling valid in Germany up to 1996, the group regularly used, but not always, the notation "Blattschuss" instead of "Blattschuß", and often did not use capital letters. Beppo Pohlmann explains the name in an interview as "a kind of shorthand for our program", " b eliebte L ieder, a nspruchsvolle T exte, T num, S how C omedy, H umor u nd s beautifu l S mood".
