THE ESSENCE AND THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE AMERICAN DOO-WOP MUSIC

When you talk about "doo-wop", a song is worth more than a thousand words: RamaLama-DingDong, Blue Moon or Do you love me? They are examples that this unknown musical style is part of the popular imaginary of many generations.

Fifty years after The Platters or The Temptations lead Billboard lists around the world, dudua has a proper name: The Velvet Candles started thir path at the beginning of 2008 singing acapella in the streets of Barcelona.

The vocal quintet from Barcelona offers a straight show, easy to enjoy and unforgettable. Their repertoire, both acapella or with the backing band, brings together classical songs of the genre and self-composed tunes, in a show full of rithm, virtuosity and good vibrations.

Their journey has lead them to clubs and festivals in Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands or Finland. They have been the backing band of many American signers from the 50's & 60's, like Tommy Hunt (Flamingos), Gaynel Hodge (Platters) or Norman Fox (Rob Roys), and also of the most outstanding Rock'n'Roll artists. Recently, they participated in the last record form Loquillo, 'Código Rocker', putting their voices to the service of great classics like 'Piratas'.

To date there's only one record from the band in the street, issued by El Toro Records in 2010 under the title of 'The Story of Our Love', but they are already working in their new record.

Soon we'll be able to enjoy them in many international festivals: Rhythm& Riot (UK) in November, BCN Hayride (Barcelona) in December, Rockin' Race Jamboree (Torremolinos) in February, The Jukin' 50's (Germany) in May, Screamin' Festival (Spain) in June, Feel the 50's (The NEtherlands) in July and Summer Jamboree (Italy) in August.
