The Rabaue are a group of musicians from Grevenbroich , which was known mainly by the members of the Cologne Carnival .
The band's name (in the singular: Rabau ) means in the Lower Rhine dialect blank or brawler , the French Ribaud = Jack.
The band consists of Peter van den Brock, Albert Detmer, Peter Jansen, Benny Weissert and Alexander Barth. Founder Peter Kempermann left the band at the end of the carnival session 2014/2015 at his own request .
The band was created in 2001 after the separation of Peter Kempermann and Peter van den Brock from the Cologne tuning band The Hummingbirds (including The Hands to Heaven ). The first success for the Rabaue came with the title On the chairs finished , which got into the top 100 of the Media Control single charts .
