Enrique Martín Morales (born December 24, 1971), commonly known as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican singer, actor and author. Martin began his career at age twelve with the all-boy pop group Menudo. After five years with the group, he released several Spanish-language solo albums throughout the 1990s. He also acted on stage and on TV in Mexico, becoming a modest star in the country. In 1994 he starred on the US TV soap opera General Hospital, playing a Puerto Rican singer.

In early 1999, after releasing several albums in Spanish, Martin performed "The Cup of Life" at the 41st Grammy Awards show, which became a catalyst in bringing Latin pop to the forefront of the U.S. music scene.

Following its success, Martin released "Livin' la Vida Loca" which helped him obtain enormous success worldwide and is generally seen as the song that began the Latin pop explosion of 1999 and made the transition easier for other Spanish-speaking artists to move into the English-speaking market. Since its release, the song has sold over 8 million copies, making it one of the best selling singles of all time.

His first English-language album (also titled Ricky Martin), has sold 22 million copies and is one of the best selling albums of all time.

His other studio albums include: Me Amarás (1993), A Medio Vivir (1995), Vuelve (1998), Sound Loaded (2000), Almas del Silencio (2003), Life (2005), Música + Alma + Sexo (2011), and A Quien Quiera Escuchar (2015).

"María" is a song recorded by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin for his third album, A Medio Vivir. It was released as a single on November 21, 1995, in the United States, and later in other parts of the world. "María" sold over 5 million copies and became Martin's first international hit single.

Four versions of the music video exist. The first uses the original track from the A Medio Vivir album and shows Martin performing the song on a stage at a concert, with some shots of him singing and dancing to the song in the colorful barrio of La Boca in Buenos Aires with the local people.

The second version is set to the Pablo Flores Remix of the song and uses scenes and shots of the original video plus added takes of Martin performing in concert or at the barrio, close shots of locals dancing, etc. Both the original and the remix video were released in 1995. A third version, the least known, was filmed to the Pablo Flores Spanglish Remix in 1997.

The last version was shot in France and directed by Memo del Bosque in 1998. Also set to the Pablo Flores Remix of the song, this version of the video is considered to be the official version, and is also the most popular.

"Livin' la Vida Loca" is a number-one hit song by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin.

It was released on March 23, 1999 from Martin's self-titled debut English album (he had previously released several albums in Spanish). The song was composed by Desmond Child and Draco Rosa and topped the charts during 1999. La vida loca is Spanish for "the crazy life."

"Livin' la Vida Loca" is generally seen as the song that began the Latin pop explosion of 1999 and made the transition of other Spanish-speaking artists (first Enrique Iglesias, then later Shakira, Thalía, and Paulina Rubio) into the English-speaking market easier.

Before this time, most non-Latino Americans had never heard of Martin until what CNN reported was a show-stopping performance of "La Copa de la Vida" at the 41st Grammy Awards show, which became a catalyst in bringing Latin pop to the forefront of the U.S. music scene. "Livin' la Vida Loca" sold over 8 million copies, making it one of the best selling singles of all time.

The song received various Grammy Awards nominations and Ricky Martin obtain enormous success inside the United States and worldwide. In 2007, the song was ranked at number 28 on the list of 100 Greatest Songs of the 90's by VH1.  It is Martin's signature song and still maintains a cult following.

Martin performed the song on second series of The Voice Australia with fellow judges Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden and Seal.

She Bangs" is an up-tempo, salsa-influenced song made famous by Ricky Martin via his 2000 album Sound Loaded. The lyrics, loaded with metaphor and double entendres, express the singer's fascination with a woman who may after all be Lady Luck herself. The song was co-written by Desmond Child and Draco Rosa and produced by Rosa and co-writer Walter Afanasieff.
