Rudi Schuricke (born Erhard Rudolf Hans Schuricke; 16 March 1913, Brandenburg an der Havel – 28 December 1973) was a popular German singer and film star. Especially well known in the 1930s through the early 1950s, his 1949 recording of "Capri-Fischer" was a "smash hit" in Germany. Even as late as the mid-1950s, he was still a successful musical artist. In 1954 alone, his song "Moulin Rouge" was the 74th most purchased single on the German year-end chart and another of his songs

"Das Märchen unserer Liebe" appeared on the German Top50 chart.  The advent of the rock 'n' roll age, however, soon made his music old fashioned.

Schuricke tried to make a comeback in the early 1960s. At the time of his comeback, Billboard Magazine referred to him as "one of Germany's hottest recording stars of former years." Schuricke returned to the music charts in 1980, when a compilation of his songs, Noch einmal mit Gefühl, reached the #6 spot on the German albums chart. It remained on the chart for ten weeks

The Capri fishermen ("When the red sun sinks in the sea at Capri ...") is a German hit , which in the recording of Rudi Schuricke became a Welterfolg in the early 1950s.

The German composer Gerhard Winkler wrote the song in 1943. The play of the play on the radio was forbidden, since the US army had already landed on Capri in 1943. The text comes from Ralph Maria Siegel , the father of the composer Ralph Siegel . The first interpreter of the song and also on the shellac record was the singer Magda Hain . She was a discovery by Gerhard Winkler and known for her coloratura opaque .

In May 1947 the song on a shellac record of the record company Amiga with Kurt Reimann appeared as a singer in the former Soviet Zone . In the western zones and the young Federal Republic of Germany it was known in 1949 by Rudi Schuricke. In Switzerland, the interpretation recorded by the singer Gretl Rath was also popular. A version with English text (author Don Pelosi - Leon Powers) came out in 1948 in the United States by Gracie Fields under the title Fisherman of Capri (Bella Bella Marie) .
