René Klijn: De man die aids in Nederland een gezicht gaf
René Klijn heeft in zijn korte leven een hit mogen scoren, maar dat was toen hij in zijn laatste fase van zijn korte leven zat. In eerste instantie wilde hij dat de buitenwereld niet wist dat hij aids had. Maar iets in hem veranderde en hij stemde in om het programma Schreeuw van de Leeuw van Paul de Leeuw te verschijnen. Deze uitzending met René Klijn heeft er voor gezorgd dat mensen zich meer bewust werden van aids in Nederland.

Mister Blue met Rene Klijn
Rene Klijn was te gast in het televisieprogramma Schreeuw van de Leeuw van Paul de Leeuw. Hij vertelde in die uitzending openhartig over zijn ziekte AIDS. De uitzending werd beloond met de bronzen roos op het televisiefestival van Montreux en de Zilveren Medaille TV programs and Promotion Award op het New York Festival.

Rene Klijn bracht in 1993 een single uit met de titel "Mr. Blue", dat de nummer 1-positie in de Nederlandse hitparades haalde. Niet lang na deze hit overleed Rene Klijn op 30 jarige leeftijd aan Aids
