Peppino di Capri, stage name of Joseph Faiella (Capri, July 27, 1939), is an Italian singer and actor.

He has participated in fifteen Sanremo Festival winning the 1973 with the song A great love and nothing more, and in 1976 with the song Do not do it anymore. His greatest successes are Champagne and Roberta

In an evening in Ischia, in August 1958, the group was noticed by a record company executive Milan Carisch, there on vacation, who offers him a record deal. On September 26, the five musicians leaving for Milan with a Fiat 1100 to record ten songs offered by the record company, almost all songs were already performed by the group in their evenings in the local and then for sure successo.Mario Cenci proposes, then, the change of name the group saying to Peppino: "since your name is Peppino and come to Capri you will be called Peppino di Capri". The full name of the band is, then, Peppino di Capri and her Rockers.

Certainly seems clear inspiration of the group to American rock'n'roll production of the late fifties and, although it is never explicitly stated, strong in that period are the references of Peppino di Capri look at the rocker figure Texan Buddy Holly , which in some interpretations even seems to pay homage to the typical technique of stop-hand such as in "Do not Play that song."

From September 26 to 30 it will affect the group in studies of Carisch ten songs, which will be published gradually in five 45s. October 20, '58 is published the first Let me cry / You're divine dear, followed on November 9 by the second, Autumn is not sad / Mambo alphabetically: but the third, published November 28, Pummarola boat / Nun is sin, which brings you great success, thanks to the song on side B, Nun is a sin, written by Silvano Birga, Ugo Calise and Carlo Alberto Rossi, who becomes an evergreen of Italian song. December 6 released the fourth Last train to San Fernando / Teach you to rock.

In 1960 it completes the artist's consecration which publishes fourteen 45s and two hugely successful album, being ubiquitous in the hit parade. In the year of the Olympics, Peppino di Capri and the Rockers they will also perform at the legendary Dance of the Kings in Naples, in the Palazzo Serra di Cassano. At the beginning of the year churns out one of its largest evergreen: Nobody in the world, the Italian version of the planetary No arms can ever hold you in 1955.
