The military music service is one of three military services of the Bundeswehr . The head of the military service of the Bundeswehr belonged to the Armed Forces until the 2009 reorganization . Military music was a separate element, and the general development of the base of the armed forces and the heads of the departments in the armed forces.

The head of the military music service was the top expert of all military musicians throughout the Bundeswehr and in this capacity responsible for further professional development. In the military music service, 14 music corps of the partial forces were organized, the army , the navy , the air force and the military base as well as four music corps with special tasks.

With the reorientation of the Bundeswehr , all the music corps were submitted to the Armed Forces organization, and there to the Bundeswehr Military Military Center. Five music corps were broken by train, and there are still nine (2015).
