Genaro Monreal Lacosta , known as Maestro Monreal ( Ricla , 1 of December of 1894 - Madrid , 30 of September of 1974 ) was a Spanish composer.

He was born in the town Zaragoza of Ricla on 1 December 1894. It was the third male vet son Gregorio Monreal and Manuela Lacosta. The name of Genaro that his parents put him was not chosen by chance, it was in memory of an uncle of his called Genaro Lacosta Lavilla that in the year 1.866 marched from Barcelona to "to do the Americas" and of which they never knew more. From a young age he began to play the flute, and at the age of seven he entered as a seise! The choir of the Basilica del Pilar. He studied in the boarding school of the Infantes del Pilar and at fifteen he moved to Madrid to continue his studies of music in the conservatory of that city, where he was until the age of twenty,

The illusion of Genaro Monreal was to compose and to play in public reason why it was enrolled in an orchestra. Later he learned to play the piano in order to write songs, and so began first orchestrating works to consecrated composers to later devote himself entirely to composition.

He married Inocencia Moreno Cánovas, was a professional dancer with the artistic name of Paquita Pagán. He passed away in Madrid the 30 of September of 1974.

There have been many successes, for example, "Campanera" that he composed together with Naranjo and Murillo, and to recreate in his voice, firstly, Ana María Catala, which we can see in the photo rehearsing with the master Monreal.Esta song Later it was also popularized by Estrellita de Palma, Joselito and Diana Navarro. Other compositions are: "El capote de paseo", "Tani", "El lerele", " Neither bought nor sold ", "El veredito", "Las tardes del Ritz", "El garrotín" , "Habanera del cariño", which was a gold record in the US, and a long etcetera. 1
