After a training as a locksmith, Michael studied guitar and singing for three years. Marianne was initially a tax assistant, studied classical singing and accordion. 1973 met the two at Munich Platzl know and received an engagement as vocal and musical duo. In 1974 she turned Der Jäger von Fall , their only previous feature film.
They have been married since 1979 and have two sons. On September 9, 2016, they have in Rottach-Egern married in church. [1]
1986 took Marianne and Michael at the first Grand Prix of Folk Music part and achieved with her song Today is dancing the 11th Place. In 1987, she sang the song of the ARD television lottery Our Country .
After numerous TV appearances both in the late 1980s took over the moderation of Superhitparade of folk music in the ZDF and the music show Funny musicians , from which they produced about 100 editions from 1989 until its setting of 2007. After a temporary move to Sat.1 with Celebrations and RTL with Heimatmelodie they returned in 1993 back to the ZDF. Today, the duo can look back on over 200 ZDF shows. Since 2000, they met in their additional show Greetings with Marianne & Michael in ZDF Herzenswünsche.
With the title Germany is' schee they won the Super Hit Parade of folk music in 1996. early 1990s founded Marianne and Michael a music publishing company and devote themselves since then also the offspring in the popular market.
In July 2007 the ZDF announced that the contracts with Marianne and Michael would not be extended. Justification: "[... there was] no legal right to Beatles or folk music" ( ZDF spokesman Walter Kehr ). The Association of German folk music and pop took on a legal opinion, to address the alleged discrimination. On November 13, 2007 Marianne and Michael announced in the talkshow of Johannes B. Kerner, that they will moderate in 2008 three shows on ZDF, the preselection for the Grand Prix of Folk Music , Christmas with Marianne and Michael and an open-air show.
On 19 September 2007 Marianne and Michael were in the context of awarding the Golden Hen award for lifetime achievement.
In the 2008 to 2010 Marianne & Michael moderated respectively the summer Openair , the preselection for the Grand Prix of Folk Music and Christmas with Marianne and Michael . Since the ZDF changed its program in 2011, Marianne & Michael also lost their last three TV shows. [2] [3] have also both made an appearance on January 30, 2014 in the new edition of Dalli Dalli, That's tip !.
In September 2016, Marianne and Michael were married after 37 years of married marriage. [4]
